I have many happy memories of Thanksgiving. Each and every year it was a treat to spend time with family and friends; Aunts, Uncles, grandparents, and cousins when I was young. Parents kids and friends when the kids were little, and friends siblings, and nieces and nephews now that I am older.
We are SO blessed.
Prayers go heavenward for all of those who have lost so much in the California fires, and in hurricane Michael. Prayers for safety of the fire, police, and EMTs working on this holiday.
May God pour out blessings to all.
I have been working on a slight variation on the hanging cluny. If you can make it to IOLI convention next year in Spokane by all means take the tatting class from Mimi Dillman. Her tatting with cluny leaves makes me green with envy. Mine are not as perfect.
I will post instructions for the Hanging Cluny Picot on a shuttle tatted ring soon.
Happy happy Thanksgiving to all!
Veterans day is this weekend. If you live in the United States of America thank a veteran for your freedom. Many of their friends died in combat to ensure that you remain free. Many served, some got to come home.
My dad was an ambulance driver in France during WWII. My brother served in the army in the 50s and 60s including in Vietnam. My husband served in Vietnam. I am free. Thank you.
New free pattern, actually it’s a very old pattern – just updated.
From 1887 “The Lace Tatting Book” on pages 27-28.
It’s called Lace Insertion.
I hope everyone
is having a good time with family and enjoying the cooler weather. Here in Florida it is down in the 80s in the daytime, and 70s at night, not quite as humid.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving with my friends and family. We have several family members who moved back to FL this year and it is SO good having family close!
Here is a photo of a tatted turkey I made in the early 2000s. His name is T. Gobbler Swoop. (Tom turkey)
He lives on a farm in IL now.
I added a couple of items to my general store. Photos coming soon.
As hurricane Michael approached the FL panhandle I hope you are in a safe place away from the storm. If you have a lantern or flashlight, battery powered radio, your favorite tatting pattern and supplies, and some yummy food, you should be able to weather the storm in your safe place.
Please, IF you are in an evacuation zone, get out! Stuff is replaceable; you are not. Take your family and pets to a safe place !!! Check in on social media to let others know you are safe when you can.
I am working on redoing my website with a new look and more functional navigation. It was time.
I have included ads at the bottom of the pages to help offset the cost of this site. I haven’t decided to keep them on there – yet. They can be ignored, or annoying.
Let me know what you think about the ads.
I have added my books to my Bookstore so now you can buy my books from me and get a personalized autographed copy. I even have a featured book each month where I will pay shipping to North America.
If your Guild would like to place an order of multiple books for the members contact me and I will discount the price to cover shipping. Shipping for overseas orders will be actual cost.
This week I am going to work on adding tatting kits and other items to my General Store. Tatting kits include everything needed to take tatting on the go including two shuttles, thread, and all kinds of useful gadgets in a neat bag to carry it all.
After that I will work on doing some Videos of techniques and some of my Celtic tatted patterns. I have observed that some people have difficulties working some of these patterns
( I think ) and maybe a video would help.
Anyway, have a great tatting week. Be kind. It is a the best gift you can give yourself and others.
Hugs to all,
